Dave,
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think a wrinkle tank is the original tank on the 750 sandcast. It was more wrinkled on the underside than the later models.

I believe this to be corect due to the way the first tanks were manufactured. The method was
later changed to produce a tank with a smooth surface floor.

The wrinkle thanks were in the early K0 run...including the early sandcasts.  At
some point in the K0 run they switched to a different manufacturing technique
that did away with the wrinkles.

The wrinkles can be seen by looking straight down into the filler hole and run
front to back where the metal bends over the frame.  There are other wrinkles
further back on later tanks, but these don't count as a true wrinkle tank.

Because of there limited numbers and their "correctness" for early restorations,
they have become quite pricey.  :o :o

Those tanks are not confined to Hondas. I had a very wrinkly tank on my Yam a couple of years ago after learning an RD250 is no Off-Roader... and that was NOT DISIRABLE Dave....  ;D
