Topic: 550 shocks on a 750

I'm interested in getting new shocks for my 750 K4 project bike and thought about using shorter shocks in order to lower the rear of the bike. I also plan on moving the forks up in the triple trees in order to even the stance out... just have an overall lower bike.

So after looking for quality shorty shocks and not finding anything, I was thinking about just getting a set of Hagon or Ikon shocks made for a 550. Thoughts? Has anybody done this? Any potential problems?

Also, I'm weighin in at just under 200lbs if that makes a difference. Thanks

This is where I buy my Hagons. They are knowledgeable and can advise you of your options once you explain what you want to do and answer their questions regarding your bike and yourself (riding style, etc.)

when I was building my 750k2 I talked to Dave Quinn about this & he didn't recommend putting hagon 550 shocks on a 750. I contacted ikon & they set me up with 550 shocks with the right springs & damping. I got them in all chrome with spring covers - you can't tell they aren't stock (if that's important to you) & the bike rides awesome! to lower the front I ordered -1" fork tubes from forking by Frank with racetech springs & emulators. if I were to do it again the only thing I would change is using Mike's XS emulators because they are 50.00 instead of 179.00.
