Steve-o, what bike is that in your avatar? That's the kind of fender by bike came with--one with a front brace, a rear brace, and the fork brace. When I looked through all the images of 78s, I noticed that they don't have the front brace.

I ask because your signature says you own a 78. I hope that's not it, because that would mean I need to do more research.

The bike in my avatar is a K4.  I do also have a K8 (and a K7) and may have a spare frt fender in my storage unit.

Thanks, Steve-o. I just wanted to make sure that isn't what a k8 fender is supposed to look like.

Hey Mingo, I can vouch for Stev-o. He is a trusting and stand up guy.  I have dealt with him few times and each time was great.

I have not dealt with Tews. But, with his reputation in the forum, I would deal with him as well.

Thanks, guys. I'm not worried about anyone's integrity. I'm just asking about the fender and the picture because I'm trying to figure out what a K8 fender is supposed to look like. As it stands, I believe it has the rear brace and the fork brace, but not the front brace. The one on Steve-O's avatar has all three, hence my question.

However, if anyone wants to give me an extra fender, I'll be happy to take it off your hands.

it is a '75.  Stops as you would expect it to.  Just fork seal caps from CycleX when I got the shorter tubes.

lol I think he meant that in the picture it looks like you're missing a caliper.  ;)

Those pics were over three years ago. I hadn't completely finished the front end. I was waiting for the SS brake line to show up and I was probably still filing burrs out of the caliper. The grass at the time was perfect for the intended purpose of taking those pictures.

I added those pictures to this thread to show how the 110/90-19's fit in my stock fender.

Another old pic but you will see the caliper is on it and it's stops as good as to be expected. ;).

A later pic. It is the first bike on the right. It is still there. ;)

Man, I wish I could get a fender over this 110/90 tire, it's really a mess going through wet areas...!
The new photos look like what I experienced in trying to mount the fender. No clearance.

Bet that second bike doesn't have a throttle tube issue either.
