Lining up tank and seat?
« on: August 09, 2012, 12:26:50 PM »
Do I HAVE to chop the rear and and use a cafe loop to get the seat in line with the tank? My hump isn't that big and it seems that the support brace back there might not fit?

The seat is a DCC Thruxton seat, btw. I know you have one @Tews19 (can I tag people?), did you manage to get yours flush?

Currently sits like this (ugly as sin, I know)

I'd like it to be in line like this.

I know I'll have clearance issues with the turn signals (I'll be getting rid of the latch). I may drill into the seat like in the above photo, but I'm not sure if they're too heavy for that. I can also mount then on my plate bracket.

You might not have to. Where is the frame hitting the seat pan? You might be able to get away with just making a few in the seat pan to clear any spots where it's hitting.
