My CB550 K0 on a dyno (just for fun).
« on: August 12, 2012, 12:50:54 AM »
There was a dyno shootout at a local bike shop. $15 for a few pulls, no tuning. I was just curious as to how much HP I've lost over the years (the result will surprise you!), and how my a/f ratio was doing.

My points are shot, so lower RPMs sound like snot, then it smooths out for a nice sexy pull.

Thanks for posting!

I'm guessing that's several more hp than stock, and the a/f looks good.

Any engine mods besides intake & exhaust?

I try to take advantage of the local shop's yearly shootout for tuning check also.

2 pulls and a t-shirt for $20 not too bad!

Stock was factory-claimed 50bhp. My numbers are surprising because I thought I would've lost much more than I did.

Internals are all stock (except for the large amount of carbon build-up I'm sure has accumulated). I've got velocity stacks and Two-Brothers exhaust (complete with an exhaust leak at the midpipe because I was too lazy to do any welding). I rejetted, and it seems to be very nice at the mid and upper range, but the ratio is all over the place down low (most likely because my points are shot).

You should've heard some of the other bikes there. There was a fuel injected sportster there, ran pretty rough at the bottom end, but mid and upper end, it was like getting punched in the chest. There was also a turbo Hayabusa that was just ear-splitting.
