Today I was adjusting the valves on my 73 cb500 and on the final tappet i was loosening the lock nut and the screw just snapped in half. The person who adjusted the valves previously had the lock nut on incredibly tight. Does anyone possibly have spare i can purchase?? I can pay via paypal. Or does anyone know where I can purchase just one?

I whole new set from Honda just for that very reason. They'll be glad to order them for you.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

They're not too expensive from Honda. BTW, if you want to get the nuts from a hardware store, they're fine pitch.

Honda part no.:
Screw: 90012426000
Nut: 90206250000

The same parts for at least CB360, CB400N, CB500/550Four, CB750K, CB650, GL1000/1100 - 1980

Should be around $8 for both. I wouldn't buy the nut at a hardware store. Might not be strong enough.
