Took little spill before The Harvest Classic, so didn’t make the group ride.   Made up for it today. Took Old Blue and Old Blonde out for our 19th Wedding anniversary ride!  This has been an annual tradition for the last 5 years. Lower Crabapple, Enchanted Rock, Willow City Loop.

Sounds like a great day, Bryne!  Much better than the one us "workin stiffs" had.

Dont believe I've been on that road pictured above with "The Rock" in it, looks to be very near to it.

And thanks again for bringing the beer. For those of you not there, Bryne brews a mean "road rash ale"!!!!!

That was some tasty brew! Wish I could have stuck around for more.  :)

Great pics.  Happy Anniversary!   That beer was on point!  I'm sure I had more than my fair share.

So I recently reupped my subscription to Motorcycle Classics after letting it lapse about four years ago.
I got the March/April issue today and there's a short two-page article about the Harvest Classic last October.
The best part is I'm in the far upper left of the photo on the first page of the article.  8)
Of course you can't see my bike however.  :P

I’m planning on it, just like last year.

I want to bring two bikes.  I wonder if they’ll let me park my truck and trailer without camping?

Hey Bud....good to hear you'll be coming out.  Yes, you can park your truck
/trailer in the big parking area, no problem

It's the one year year anniversary of Hurricane Harvey, there have been many stories on the news, I thought about you.  Hope all is back to normal.
Heard there are still hundreds of abandoned homes that have not been rebuilt for one reason or another.

Yep.  Our house flooded on August 28.  We’re doing good.  I pretty much took the summer off from working on the house to do motorcycle stuff.  I have one room left to finish, which is a converted garage.  I started laying the flooring yesterday.  I’m motivated to get it done.

Lots of houses in various stages or repair...or disrepair.  The house directly behind us has a long way to go.

Good to know I can park my trailer.  You think they’ll charge me for a camping spot?  I don’t mind paying.  Thanks.

They don't check wristbands to get in the parking area, only the area where the tent camping and other activities are.

You will still have to pay to camp, just like if you were in the tent area, but you can camp over in the big parking lot.  Lots of people do.
If you don't pay to camp, you will have to pay for the day pass into the show and you don't get dinner on Sat.

But it will be nice to have you back out there.  Which bike are you taking?

I've seen the campers in the big lot.  I want to bring the CB750 and my "new to me" Road King.  I plan on arriving Friday.  I'll take the CB out for a ride on Friday and then leave it and the truck & trailer in Lukenbach while I ride the Road King to a hotel Friday night.  I'll ride the Road King back to the rally Saturday morning and put the CB in the show.  I'll have the Road King available to putt around on Saturday and back to the hotel on Saturday night.  I'll load up and head out Sunday.

I sure hope this rain stops.  It’s rained pretty much everyday since the Labor Day weekend with no end in sight.  Not a lot of hard rain, but enough to keep me off of two wheels.  I think I’ve only ridden twice in the past five weeks.  How’s the Hill Country looking?

Hey Bud....Austin has had over 8" of rain this month (Sept), about 4 times the average.  Safe to say we are out of drought conditions!
Most of us will be there rain or shine, I'm sure it won't be as bad as 3(?) years ago when it rained the entire weekend.  It was still fun but I did bail out early.

Rained?  The bridge was 3 ft under water!  That was a monsoon!  We almost needed Elon to build a submarine to pull us out!
Still stayed and still rode home in that mess.  LOL

Unless the forecast changes dramatically I’m going to have to bow out.
