Starter Solenoid Question
« on: August 21, 2012, 01:25:07 PM »
I lost the rubber insulator that goes around my starter solenoid/relay/switch a long time ago. I move all my electronics and used two P-Clamps to hold the solenoid away from the frame. But there is a potential ground path from the body of the solenoid to the frame. Is this a problem? The rubber insulator made me think maybe the body of the solenoid had to be isolated from the frame/ground, but maybe it's just there to protect from vibration. Anyone know?

No, not a problem from an electrical point of view.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!
