And the OEM radial 4-piston, 4 pad Brembo caliper setup on my KTM was awesome, but with a Galfer wave rotor and the Galfer-recommended pads, it's even better. "Good enough" is a slippery concept.

I've used EBC HH pads on my last few bikes before this one and always felt that the upgrade was worth the money.

see thats what i love about this place.. good honest feedback. I honestly wasnt amped on running the EBC's as ive used the red/greenbox pads on previous cars ive had and wasnt crazy about them.  my logic was that a stock pad may be a bit on the soft side and perhaps not like the drilled rotor.  I kinda thought a harder pad may stand up a bit better than a stock pad. having just rebuilt my MC and replacing all the lines up front ill most likely stick with the stock stuff for a while but at the same time i know the braking power can be much better than it is now with some fine tuning..  hence the drilled rotor new pads idea. 

so James you think i should just try some new OE pads out?

I don't have cross drilled rotors...  Someone else might have to chime in on wear with OEM pads.  As for braking power, I've read a lot of guys complain that the stock MC feels squishy and unresponsive when they've swapped to duals. The only reason I went with the CBR stuff is I planned on all CBR controls....which then became a mix of CBR and SV650 parts.

bike looks GREAT!!  one question though...  ever thought about some pinstriping to break up the colors?  granted it's just through a camera and computer screen, which don't do it justice, but it looks like the contrast is minimal.  if that's what you're looking for, it's still badass, but maybe some subtle pinstriping to shadow or break up the white from the mint? 

either way, VERY NICE!!  love the exhaust too!!  when do we get to hear it???

Im running dual twin piston calipers with a CBr600F3 master. 

There is a chart at vintage brake that talks about the ratios needed between the caliper and master.
good reading and should help out alot.

I just read your thread, and I really dig several of your ideas!  The tail is way cool, the badges gave me some ideas (thanks), and I really appreciate your polishing insights. Great job!!

thanks alot man! in the short time ive been here i have realized that the amount of knowledge and the willingness to share it are far more than any forum ive been on. Im more than happy to add to that in any way i can 

2 little updates while im here.. new front pads where ordered and my new front rotor is on its way for drilling and surfacing.. Cant wait to get it all back in and installed! ill def have some pics and reviews up as soon as i get everything installed.

and the other which i still cant believe, is i was nominated for bike of the month! its such a great feeling looking at the other bikes in the running and knowing that people think my bike is on that level... thanks for any votes i may get!!

I wanted to thank you for the polishing tricks. I asked about the rouge wheel method in every local store, and nobody could help. While shopping at Menards for Dremel wheels I found an off brand kit with 3 cloth wheels and the Black Emery, Tripoli, and fine white. They look like wide little chalk sticks. The chuck that came with the kit only fits in a drill, but I put the wheels on my air grinders. The whole kit was $10.00. Thanks to you, polishing is now my favorite hobby!

Great job on the build. I enjoyed every page. The color sets it off and the lines make it look quick while sitting still!
