Canyon de Chelly' (sic?). Green River near Dinosaur Monument river looks similar , but the other photos give it away as Monument Valley area / ne AZ-NM and four corners area.

Any pics of the place called Mexican Hat or something like that? I didn't make it there.

Saturday pic looks like a lot of Zion NP pics I've seen, but I didn't hike up there where that wash is.

BTW, the road to Flag through Ash Fork is a twistee, if you never knew. I think it goes northeast out of Wikkiup. Twissssteeee!

I've been to Four Corners, North Rim, Zion and Bryce, but I think I have never been to any of those places. I looked through your entire album.... very nice. I liked #150 glassed out river/canyon.
I am wondering, how far between gas stations?

Utah. Been there. First pic can't remember the name of the highway that crawls up the side of the valley 261? but it was super cool. Second pic canyonlands? Third pic san juan river at goosenecks state park. Last pic rainbow canyon in glen canyon? Or maybe zion.

My guess is Canyon Lands N.P. I've ridden from the So. Rim to No. Rim to Zion and Bryce and back to Phoenix via Glen Canyon. I did 4 corners, Canyon De Chelly, Painted Desert/Petrified Forest and Coronado Trail. But have NOT done Needles or Arches YET

As a matter of fact when we took a Hummer tour to Secret Canyon (the slot canyon picture) we saw several road runners. I kept on the lookout for Wiley Coyote without success.

We're getting hot here. Not Canyon de Chelley. Did that a few years back. Not as nice as this area. NE of Monument Valley. Not AZ (yet). Well, the slot canyon is in AZ. Mexican Hat is the closest so far. Sorry I blew right past Mexican Hat Rock. I looked over my left shoulder at 80mph and remembered that from a 2001 trip. Pretty cool sight.

We've covered most of the same tracks but I did south rim instead. Thanks for the comments. Just uploaded last night and haven't looked at it myself yet. #150 was one of those lucky moments when the scenery is perfect, the light is perfect and the water is still. I'm shooting with my 5 year old Panasonic pocket 7mp Lumix DMC-TZ3. OK for a pocket but not good in low light. My buddy was using his semi-pro Canon. Didn't want to risk his pro camera on the bike trip. Can't wait to see his shots. Check out his site! If you're interested in purchasing tell him I sent you. Maybe he'll give you a price break

As far as gas stations go it all depends on where you go out west. The most extreme for us on this trip wasn't an issue - maybe 100 miles. I've been riding in the NV desert with 150 miles between stations on my Harley with a 5 gallon tank which usually get 40-50mpg, in the extreme heat riding up to 80-85mph and pulled in for a 4.92 gallon fill. It doesn't like speed AND extreme heat combined especially if there is a head wind on my big ass shield.

BINGO!! Folks we have a winner

Rather than head to Sturgis this year we took an abbreviated ~1400 mile excursion SW from Colorado Springs/Denver. First stop 2 nights in beautiful Telluride. Been there done that many times so no pix but the last thing I remembered that first night was the $110 bar bill at the brewpub AFTER we started elsewhere. Friday we were off to Page, AZ. There are 2 ways south out of Telluride and either would be one of the more amazing rides you'd ever do. I almost said most but you're seeing another here. You could loop back eastward and take US550 aka The Million Dollar Highway (inflation needs to change this to Billion) or take the more direct route southwestward CO145 which we did. Now if you want to be in biker heaven do the entire loop! Nice day's ride. REALLY nice. We headed westward north of Cortez near Dolores to Monticello, UT then south US191. I noticed some of those infamous dotted lines on the map on a route which we'd never done. RIGHT TURN HOWARD!! onto UT95 and head for the dotted line on UT261. If you check your map you'll notice a 2-3 mile unpaved section of switchbacks. This is where we were about 10 miles north of Mexican Hat at Muley Point Overlook. W O Fn W !! Riding just south of that after coming off the top I reached back to double check that I had buckled my saddlebag and realized I hadn't when my glove blew out. Good thing because we just about blew past Gooseneck State Reserve. That's the picture of the river bending around. Pretty cool especially when you click the picture and it opens up the video to see all the bends. From there we headed to Page, AZ bypassing Monument Valley since we'd both done that. We had a 16 mile motorized sightseeing rafting expedition scheduled below Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River Sat am. That's the reflecting canyon picture that was mentioned. The trip terminated at Lee's Ferry which is the put in point for the Grand Canyon rafting trips. After lunch we had a Hummer trip scheduled to tour Secret Canyon, one of the famous slot-style canyons. Amazing. The Hummer ride rock crawling to the canyon and back was half the amazement. 675 miles home so we hit the road for part of those miles Sat afternoon and made it to Cortez, CO late that afternoon and rode home Sunday with a nice spirited ride on US50 on our big boys through Bighorn Sheep Canyon. You really need a bike to get around all that touristy traffic and make some time following the Arkansas River. We cut though Cripple Creek turning north on US9 and in the back way, played a few slots then headed back only to get snagged in a brief afternoon Colorado mountain shower. Another nice trip! Short but nice. You guys oughta do some of this riding if you haven't. One reason I moved my base of habitat from Kentucky to Colorado. I've covered almost 50,000 western US and Canada miles since 2001.

Then you REALLY do need to do Needles AND Arches! Just don't spend too much time at the brewpub in Moab!

All their beer is 3.2 anyway

This is one of those "alternative" routes that I'd bet most folks bypass and stay on US163/US191 instead.

Guess you had missed my earlier post? It was long before I had a motorcycle but if the most beautiful trip I have taken. Did canyonlands, arches, capitol reef, glen canyon, bryce, escalante, zionback in 2000. Woulx love to do it again on my cb750k

Love Telluride, been there skiing and then a ten day camp trip on nearby Preist Lake. The Billion Dollar Highway is incredible riding, my brother went down on it, but just damaged his bars and pride!

The closest I've been was when I did the pontoon raft thing below Glen Canyon Dam, about 20 years ago. It would have been much more enjoyable, had it not been for the company I was with at the time. Moab but not sure when I went down there it was to 4 wheel so we hit Fins and Things Hell's canyon, Spider something and a few others none where that paved.

I wanna go it looks fun. Just got back from SD and broke down 12 miles outside Torrington, Wy. I'm home now front 2 crbs not seem to be getting fuel.

We got 15 bikes in front of #10 saloon. mostly naked Wings.

Someone mentioned US 261.

I'm really bummed as I hear they changed the name of the hiway '666,' Not sure what they call it now.
