I was really tired of the brown aluminum instrument panel on my 550!! So i try some solvents to lossen the glue thinking if i could get it off i could polish it. Well......no luck. but i was determined to get rid of the brown (by the way it was black originally ). So I carefully removed it from the original 1977 glue. Bad thing is that the aluminum is so thin you ca't remove it easy without damaging it. Well....i damaged mine. Thats another story. So after pondering many ideas i thought this was one my easiest ways to replace the original ugly brown. So......... i live in an apartment that i shouldn't be doing all this stuff anyways. lol. I used all hand tools to make this, files, hand drill and a small hand saw. Hand tools make alot less noise than my RotoZip.
