So that's where they all went!
What the heck is the deal with the giant license plates over there? All the cops have poor vision or what? ::)

Create market demand.

I'm sure 2x  or 3x  what Larry gets for his, if not more. But those Brits are all wealthy and never knew there's a recession. Right?

I can't see a complete refurbish being profitable @4... parts and man hours will add up.

that is about 2 1/2 times what I got.  I have sold 5 in the past couple years at prices ranging from 2 to 2500 for very good condition restorations and /or resto/mod.  I never had more than 1000 into a bike including the original purchase price.  However,  I probably had eighty hours into each bike-----------12.50 an hour :-[  Oh, well I did have fun....Larry

Even so Simon#42, if we use MoMo's hour estimate and a more realistic shop rate, 80 x $65.00 = 5200.00 then you'd still need the bodies, parts, sourcing and shipping costs....

I'm thinking more like 8k US minimum, to be a viable venture. He can't use up his inventory on bikes and then just sell the bikes at what "local used value" is. IF he's getting less that what he gets off the parts on the web page it's a business that can't work in the long run. ;)

DSS buys their own parts, no doubt, no brainer.  Prolly cheaper by the dozen, plenty of things they all need and are replaced without even  checking if the original is within spec.

i think it all depends on what they are calling refurbished , are they just tidied up cosmetically or are they rebuilt using new parts . if its the latter then yes they would have to be over $10 grand , but how many takers would they get at that price ? . i suspect its the former , but stand to be corrected !

The actual words used on the DSS page were "cosmetically completed".  Sorry about the confusion.

I'd agree simon and with the added info from Cranky I'd put 4g even in US as possible. ;)
