I`m probably at best a few weeks away from having her road ready. I`ve got another bass tournament this Saturday  which means I dont get to do anything to it until Monday. I`ve got to decide what to do with my tank. Its off what I believe to be a K5 and I eventually want to put a K1 tank back on it. I have nine cans of original Honda paint but I dont want to use it on the K5. I`m thinking of painting it a candy color and save the Honda paint until I  an find a good K1 tank that I can afford..........Gary

Got my turn signals from member neilc and installed them and that`s when the fun started. The po had taken the winkers off at some point in time along with a lot of the related wiring in the birds nest that lives in the headlight case. After many hours researching the forum files and making new wires with plugs I succeded in getting them to lite up but not blink. I found a missing ground wire and replacing all four of the bulbs,  its a miracle......I`ve got winkers that winky wink !!!. Tires and tubes came in and are at the shop being installed on my old rims. I`ve ordered a new upper brake line from Z1, also all new banjo bolts and crush washers from Service Honda. Wont be much longer before I might get in a test ride............Gary

Sorry I havnt done an update in awhile but with my grandaughters playing softball and my bass tournaments progress has been a little slow. But finally I sat on the seat and slowly let the clutch out it it acutally worked . It moved and took me down the highway............But I have a slight problem. Engine skips when under load and eventually dies at idle. I`ve double checked the timing and its good. I think it may be the spark plug wires and caps. I`m going to ordered new coils caps, and points and condensers. Saturday I ordered a nos seat from Motogrid, The one I put the foam in just doesnt sit right. I think the foam is not as dense as it should be. I will need to find the latch part that goes on the frame. I got my air compressor that had been sitting for years and found out it was locked up. So before I can do the paint and body work I`ll either find a used compressor or rebuild mine.  Its getting close to the time to decide if I`m going back with a K1 tank and side covesr or paint the K5  that is on the bike already. Its in great shape and no rust inside and the side covers are perfect except for the paint. Ahhh decisions, decision, decisions..............Gary

Sounds like maybe you have an electrical part that is failing under heat/load. A cheap check would be to try new condensors. I think if you had a bad plug cap it would create a miss that was more consistent but I'm not sure about that.

What is your idle set at?

Hey Gary - I like the idle set little higher, try 1400 and set it after fully warmed up.

Pretty sure I have a spare seat latch if you need one.  Would be interested in buying your seat once you get the new one, could use it for a future K6 project.

Have the Bass been biting?!

Well so much for my seat order. Motogrid called last night and said it had been discontinued. I wonder why they still have it listed in their catalog? Oh well the search will continue. Stevo thanks for the advice on the idle I`ll give it a try. Its supposed to climb into the 80`s today here in Covingto Ga and I`m getting anxious to ride. I`ll let you know after this two day tournament how the bass are biting..........Gary

Ya 900 is pretty low. I found that a 1200RPM or so idle seemed more stable and smooth.

Gary, I saved these photos from a 2010 ebay auction. This super clean K1 went for $11500 IIRC.

Nope, the ducktail was on the K0.  The tail stuck up about an inch, to keep the passenger from falling off??

3,000,000 for this one (in yen at Yamiya)

Try these guys http://www.hondanuts.com/cb750.html  They say to call them as it's discontinued. I have purchased from them and got good parts and good service. Cheers, Cliff.
