Good deals!  What color are you painting the frame?

Nothing radical just going back with gloss black. Hopefully it will be painted today.......Gary

Hi Gary,
Looks like progress is being made.  It'll be exciting getting the frame back from painting, then you can start building a bike. ;D

Yeah progress finally. I cant wait to get it back and start putting it back together although there is still a lot I want to do some of it is going to have to wait a bit. With Christmas right around the corner some of the parts I want are going to have to wait. Who knows maybe Santa will be good to me...................Gary

Well I picked up my frame parts today or at least most of them. He didnt paint my upper triple, headlite bucket and worst of all he cant find my fork ears. To say I`m disappointed would be an understatement. He has promised to find them and get the rest of them painted. I promise to never depend on someone else to do something that I am more than capable of doing myself. I thought it would be easier to let him do it than it would to keep moving my bass boat in and out of the garage. I `ll never make that mistake again. I posted some images and will apologize in advance for the quality they really look nice..................Gary

ps; Got to hurry and get these parts out of the living room before the wife gets home.

The parts look great! Getting a good quality paint job is tough to do ... or at least time consuming.

Tell him to find those damn fork ears! They are expensive as heck and hard to find!

I didnt think this day would ever get here. Today I put the engine back in the frame. It was really easy, laid on old points cover and blocked it up had my son come down and in ten minutes had the engine bolts in. It wasnt even necessary to protect the frame from scratches. Also installed my rebuilt swingarm, shocks, grab handle, Brake hub stabilizer, and brake pedal pivot. All in all a good day.

On a sour note my fork ears are still MIA. He is going to take a set from his KO to replace them with. Hopefully I`ll have my upper triple, Fork ears, and headlite bucket back by this weekend. BTW sorry about the greasy finger prints in the photos...........Gary

If you guys will remember my painter lost both of my fork ears. He never could find them but he had inherited a KO from his father and took those off and painted them for me. They are actually in better condition than the ones he lost but I didnt realize that the turn signal mounts are totally different. To say I`m disappointed is an understatement. I guess I`ll have to use these until I can afford to buy the correct ones. If its not one thing its another. Well like some great philosopher once said         " D*mmit it man "........Gary

by steering stem do you mean the frame neck? mine measures 7.5 inches.

oh you mean the triple lower with that long stem that goes through the neck? mine measures 9.5 inches on my K1. probably doesn't answer anything

Gary those fork ears are not for a 750. Look on eBay. More like a 175/350 or even a 450  early 70's ear. Each ear on eBay used go for 85 bucks repainted like crap and up for a K0-K1.  I would mention to him and get something out of it. Not knowing the guy, one knows the difference between a 750 and that fork ear you posted a pic.

Actually they are CB750 fork ears mate, they were used from K3 to K6. (definitely not K0) Cheers, Terry. ;D

I was going to say if he gave you K0 ears then you should have just sold them on ebay or traded them to someone on here for the correct set you want. The k0 ears are likely worth a crap load like most 'sand cast' stuff.

Terry I looked at the photos and they dont exactly match what I have. The raised part around the turn signal mount is different. The one one on bay is raised and mine is flush and their not chrome. Anyone got a picture of a K0 ear ?

I remeasured mine this morning and my old one measure 9.5 inches. Anyone know what the 8.5 inch stem fits? Thanks for all the replies.........Gary

Gary...my first thought is why would you be buying KO fork ears when the painter lost them. He should be buying them. Here is some pics of the ears for you.

I didnt buy them the painter took them off a 750 he inherited from his father . He thinks its a 1970 model but obviously its not. So the K0 an K1 ears look the same?..........Gary

Ha ha, you guys must be smoking the whoopie weed! Ok, here we go: Gary's painter lost Gary's headlight ears. Gary's painter had a father. Gary's painter's father also had a CB750, a K0. Gary's painter took the fork ears off his fathers CB750, painted them, and gave them to Gary. See Spot run.............. ;D

Gary, it may be that someone just drilled some holes in some K0 ears, hence, no chrome, and no raised area. Cheers, Terry. ;D
