Well I got my replacement fender today and as I was afraid its not as nice as the 1977 he sent in error. Its fairly clean, very little rust but has some damage around the tail lamp and at the bottome edge. It wont show a lot witht the tag mounted and will have to do until I can afford a NOS.........Gary

Same here! Once everything else is really nice, I really notice those things. I have to deal with that on my bike too. But, like you, money comes into play. Good thing is is that most people won't notice or care.

Been doing a few small things while I`m waiting on parts. I`ve ordered rear brakes shoes, mirrors, and a new seat strap with buckles. Carbs should be back from Digger in a couple of weeks. Today I cleaned and installed the correct K1 fender and tail light and put a new sleeve on the wires. The images make the fender look better than it actually is. I can see some NOS stuff in the future but for now I`m wanting to make it rideable.........Gary

Brake shoes came in today. If I didnt have a bass tournament tommorow I would reassemble my rear wheel. But Just maybe i can win the dang thing and use the prize money to buy more shiny new stuff...........Gary

love new parts! I just got in two packages from honda......I forgot to annotate what the parts were for as I was ordering them, so now I am reverse part looking up about 50+ pieces....

I ordered my seat strap and buckles from the link that steveo gave me. They came in today and I was pleasently surprised. The buckles look great the strap has some lumps in it that I believe will come out when installed. Overall their 100% better than what I had. Desperatly need all four carb drain screws if anyone has any or knows someone please let me know...........Gary

Curious as to what was the difference in the drain screws. Never compared them yet just assumed they would be the same. Guess I need to dig around the parts and compare sometime ?

Hey Eric - I had no idea there were differences either. The early screws have a small head and use a washer. Later ones an oring, look at the link below.

Sorry Gary, at least you only need two, just buy em new for $10.

Stevo couldnt find them for $10 but did get two from JT marks on ebay $29.40 including shipping. Ouch that hurt. But it is what it is.........Gary

Those are the types of parst where I wish I had a mini lathe. You could turn out a part like that so easily and probably make all four for a couple bucks in material.

Finally found the time to put together my new seat strap from Z1. All in all it was really easy. I did find a metal brkt inside my old strap that went through the buckle that didnt come with the strap kit. I managed to wire brush it the best I could and primed it with an etching primer and sprayed a lite coat of gloss black on it. Man it was a rusty booger. My carbs have been diggerized and should be here tommorow. My list is getting shorter but still have a few things I`m gonna need.

My list;

new tires frt and rear
Tubes and liners
Front rubber brake lines
rear brake switch and spring
frt headlite ring and bulb
