"NOS" CB750F tank on EBay that is NOT NOS
« on: November 25, 2012, 08:55:16 AM »
Guys, this appears to be the tank we were just discussing that was auctioned at a West Virginia dealer that I once purchased on EBay as NOS. I posted up identifying pictures. IF this is the same tank, and it appears that it is, it is a warranty take-off which makes it used. It has a small burst paint bubble on the top front right, seat paint wear, and damaged stripe on the left rear bottom. It is a good tank but do not be fooled into thing it is NEW Old Stock. It's priced at $495 buy it now with 2 other offers. IF it is the same tank it IS a nice tank in great shape but again it ain't NEW! I sent the seller tw very specific questions. I'll see if he replies.

Fwiw I just sold an orange NOS tank that was new for $450 so $495 is a little high for a used tank pretending to be new. Hope nobody pays that.

One of the questions I asked was for a picture of the other side of the box. The one I sent back back the original owners name and the bubble info. I don't particularly like frauds!

Sold. No reply. If one of our guys got it, hope you're not disappointed, it is a good tank just not NOS and finding used tanks in this good of shape is next to impossible.

Hmmm not going to get much better than that tank.  I have seen worse wear from just being on a shelf in the box.  The new owner will probably not know the difference or be happy with a couple imperfections.  Many parts aren't even perfect straight off the assembly line.

I did receive a response:

Dear rxmangriff,

It is a tank from wv but wasn't the one your speaking of its still listed on eBay. Thanks

Thought I saw the popped bubble and the damaged stripe in his pictures.

Harisuluv is on the money with his assessment.
