The Indianapolis Motor Speedway hosts the AMA GP every year and it was my first chance to go over there and take in the day. The event is not attended in anything like the scope of the 500 or the Brickyard, but there is a pretty big crowd and most are into the racing, and the scene. You are taken in by the motorcycle heaven atmosphere because there is every type possible.
The day was a bit chilly to start off. In the 50s, and the other guys are riding without fairings. I call dumbass on that. Got up to the low 80s and pretty much perfect. Indianapolis is 75 miles to the east of me and the ride was great with little Sunday morning traffic. By the time we got to 16th and Georgetown the leather was too much.

Inside the Speedway, which is one of the top 10 cool places on earth. A couple more of the top ten are on Brooklyn Decker.

Started the day going through the vendor marketplace. Lots of stuff for sale. Ducati had a big presence.
Manufacturers such as KTM, Yamaha, Honda, Vance & Hines, helmets, leathers, doo-rags; you name it. A couple of the displays areas. Honda:

One of the guys had passes to the Miller Lite deck near the north short chute. Free beer, free food, disk jockey, tons of fun people. And we got a ride from these shorties so we didn't have to walk clear the hell up there. Nearly had to have the pacemaker checked.

Racing started at 11am and went until around 4pm. Up on the Miller Lite deck we could take in a good portion of the northern end of the track with several great turns then the bikes disappear onto the main straight-a-way. Incredibly loud and Extremely close.

After the GP guys were done, the final race was the 1200 Harleys. They put on a good show. A couple of them went off right in front of us, but no injuries. At least not to me. You can actually see one guy blowing a motor in the left side of the shot. Ended up in the gravel That stuff stops you like the wires on an aircraft carrier.

Not a bad way to spend a Sunday. Tickets were way too much for the event, and $5 lemonade and $35 caps are a bit extreme but a great way to take in the sunshine, motorcycles and hot women. Pretty good day.
