Sold a bike... Sellers remorse
« on: August 16, 2012, 11:15:23 AM »
So, I reached the conclusion that I can't ride and maintain 6 bikes.  I listed my original CBO colored 350F in hopes I could find a trade in the form of some ATVs for my kids or an old car to wrench on.  I got an email the first day.  Turns out this young lady had just joined the service and was looking for something smaller than her old '82 honda 750 she had back home.  She wanted it as soon as she saw it.  So yesterday she came back with the $$$.  My kid was watching from the garage when she rode off and said, "wow, I never thought you'd sell that one."  I just kind of stood in the garage looking at the spot it used to sit in.  My wife came out and asked me why I was just standing there I told her I felt conflicted.  I get real sentimental with stuff.  So, I'm down one bike but up $1600.  I told her to email me once she got it back to her place.  She was really happy with it.  I'll probably do something foolish with the money like buy something I d0on't need at Barbers this year... :-\

its better to regret something you have done, than something you havent.Except playing with explosives.

When I sold my old Ducati Monster a few years ago, I shed a man tear or 2.   :'(

I forgot to mention thanks to everyone who helped me with it.  Special thanks to the member that wrecked his and sold me the CBO fork ears and covers...  That was one real good running bike.

I put an ad up for my bike, thinking I wouldn't mind selling it. When a guy showed up to look at it I found myself talking it a bit lol. Something about a 40 yr old bike that can cruise around 100mph that I just love.

But you need EVERYTHING at Barber.  Hope you can get it all for a paltry $1600.

You'd be suprised what you can buy for $1600 at the Barber Festival - check out the auction.  Many good deals to be had there.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

I walked past the auction last year but didn't go in.  I heard them letting a guy bid against himself because he couldn't get up to a sellers asking price.  He ended up not getting it IIRC.
