drag bars on a 750- smaller mastrer cylinder???
« on: June 27, 2006, 01:29:37 PM »
hey everyone,
i just finished an install of new drag bars, which are awesome, except that the master cylinder does not fit, leaving my brake handle at a weird angle, and my right mirior totally useless. i was wondering what others have done in this situation. thanks,
-andrew

I know this is not going to be easy to see, or understand, but what i did was to run the knob of the MC between the handlebar mount and the underside of the tachometer - this tucks the MC right up on the bar mount - then, and this is the trick, the banjo twists down between the speedo and the tach - the line runs straight down to the caliper.

the handles are at slightly different angles...it took me about one hour to get used to it...

I did the same thing and got a newer, modern, MC off of ebay. It works and fits great.

As for the mirror, get yourself a set of bar end mirrors. They work great. I love mine.

I have straight drag bars/broomstick on mine, with a set of 6 inch dog bone risers.  Had the same problem.  Somplace along the line, someone had mentioned that Buell has 7/8ths inch bars.  I checked it out, and they work great.  I was able to eliminate the pressure switch for the brake lights, because the switch was attached to the master cylinder.  I ran a braided/stainless line right from the m/c to the caliper, and the mirror mount on the m/c worked fine.  Good luck
