Another PNWer here, if not exactly a Seattleite.  I was looking for a Mudhoney link when I saw it had been posted.  Also a big Eddie Vedder fan.

More great Seattle bands that never got big.

Alice In Chains - Down In A Hole
Alice in chains - Down in a Hole

Although Alice in chains weren't huge, they were definitely big... ;) Grunge personified... 8)

Heard any of their newer stuff..?

Alice In Chains - Check My Brain

Classic Alice... ;)

s'OK Lane Staley was a big part of the Chain's sound. Layne's Brother lives across the street from my sister and her family. Very tragic ending to a great song writer.

Yes he was , well so i thought, don't sell Jerry Cantrell short though, listen to the clip i posted and shut your eyes, you would swear blind that Layne was there, Cantrell was and still is the driving force in Alice.....  I did love Layne as well, such a waste...

Jerry cantrell is phenomenal! That's why Down in a hole is my favorite AIC song to put on the headphones and kick back and crank it up.. It showcases every piece of the band.

This was a cool band out of LA back in the 90's but we had a DJ in Seattle that loved to play them. I really liked their sound.

IMO, Sweet Water, their second album, was the best. I think they put out 5 lp's
Saw them many times. Great party band.  Adam czieslers dad was a client of mine.  Met Adam once after a show.  He was pretty flaboyant...in a big glasses and feather boa's kinda way.

I think we have a convert! I had 3 of their CDs but the car got broken into 10 years ago and everything was taken. I had a decent collection of music from the 90s back then. I need to replace it with MP3s someday.

Fly, Seattle was pretty F'ing fun and cool back then. Prolly my fondest memories. Having a job was just a means of paying for going out at night to Pioneer Square and Bell Town bars to see bands. Remember Scratch Acid and Ministry?

Ministry - "Jesus Built My Hot Rod"
Ministry - Jesus Built my Hotrod.
(these guys were out there but I got free tickets to see them once. I liked this song.)

Then Cobain died and MicroSoft got huge, kind of ended it all.

I was glad this song was the first on the tracklist for the album Floored... the rest of the album was so-so and I usually only listened to the first track, typically while suffering from lead foot.

I saw it in the theater and did not like it but liked it more and more each time I saw it.
