« on: June 27, 2006, 08:50:55 PM »
Well I had things greased while back, a while.................back! Anyways it is time to do it again, this time I am going to do it.

I am looking to find out what types of grease are recommended where. Such as the axles steering bearings, the front brake pivot places like those,. rear swing arm and such. I dont care about brands just types.

I used to use Castrol MS3, Moly grease, then Silkolene Race (ProRG2), couple of the synthetics I tried had to be used with a grease gun, worked well on swing arm pivots but did'nt seem to have right consistency straight from tube on head bearings and such I've also used FINISH LINE Grip Shift grese bicycle grease to lube throttle tube/handlebar.
For front and rear axles use any waterproof wheelbearing grease, assembly lube or anti sieze. dont use anti-seize on brake pivots, I'm using teflon grease there at present as its got a 400deg melting point
Now I've posted some reccomendations people can start dissagreeing with me ;D

Thanks pj.
Well I got some standard multi-use grease and some wheel bearing grease. Going to use the bearing grease in the swing arm probably unless someone says different, I think it may be too heavy and since the swing arm does not have long range of movement, maybe regular grease is good enough?
