Engine cases K3
« on: August 25, 2012, 10:15:18 PM »
I've just had my engine cases hydroblasted and they look like new.  It seems like a crime to paint them.  I imagine they wouldn't stay like that for long without some sort of coating, otherwise they wouldn't have been painted in the first place.  What's the best way to go from here?  And if it's paint, what sort?

The engine was painted when new.
Duplicolor Hi-Temp Silver DE1615 is a virtual match to the original paint.

Although painting looks great and makes them virtually maintenance free, a lot of other bikes from the era weren't painted. Keep them clean and spray a little WD40 on them to keep the white powder at bay, and they'll be fine. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"
