Cb550 "Noemani" Changed TANK AN BARS BETTER???
« on: August 26, 2012, 10:43:44 PM »
project Noemani (new mani like armani minus the ar) name comes from my gararge dog I had to put down do to valley fever first bike Ive done without him hanging out
so my project is a 550- started with a donated frame from my buddy had to find a motor- almost no compression at all so I will be doing rings hone pull valves guied seal lap new rings vesrah gaket kit ecb plates an springs
Going to run a seca II swingarm- need to get pivot bolt machined drill out hole to 16mm order a shock make top shock mount need to make a 20mm spacer for the rear axle bolt
Im running 16x3 drop center hoops laced to 550 rear hub an for the front 16x3 laced to cb450 shoe hub both front an back 130/90 16's
thinking about the carpy 4into1 pipe ( he dropped the price to 240 not bad)
rebuild carbs gonna start with 110 4th clip start with 38 but order some 40's running the pk3 uni pods
Need to find a tank thinking something fat an round will go with the tires.
Top of forks are pitted bad so Im going to make some sleeves to go over the top. an the list goes on as we all know
thanks for looking

No I bought the swingarm from a junk yard.
Made some bars, some headlight ears an some tubes to cover up the rust on the top of the forks
think a battery box by where the horn mounts would be to hot?
was thinking a Older 750 gas tank might looks good any thoughts?
thanks Paul

What is the outside diameter of the Seca inner sleeve? What is the OD of the stock swing arm inner sleeve? Does the Seca use bushings like stock, or needle bearings?

I tried it the other day The OD of the stock swingarm sleeve if much small I didnt measure an it is also Longer

No it uses the needle bearing not  bushings like the stock honda swingarms

You will need an accurate measurement of the Seca sleeve length, and the stock sleeve length. This will help determine the thickness of the required pivot spacers.

Got my swingarm pivot an longer axle bolt today from Scottly ( thanks man) The seca uses a 5/8 15.88mm pivot bolt So I had to drill out the mounts for that, Going to have to make some spacers between the frame. I got a 750 axle for the rear bout a half in longer then the 550's the Rear of the swingarm OD to OD is wider then stock an ID to ID is narrower then stock so gonna have to make a spacer in the rear also
thanks for looking Paul

built out my forks today since I got my "gaitor booties" bought them from parts n more or some sh!t after some google searching making sure the 750 an 550 both had 35mm fork tubes- Gaitor tighter at the top under the triple tree right. thats what I thought bottoms over the tube no problem top 50mm "guessing" to lazy to return them an find the right one so I made them work. took a old intake booty cleaned it out with the dremel slid it down over the fork an it fits.
