I use the 5.5mm Honda stuff. Kink resistant, lasts a long time, and you don't have to fight to get it on or off (or fight to keep it on, for that matter). Not cheap, but worth it. PN 95001-55003-60M.

that distribute fuel to the accelerator nozzels have
brass restrictors hidden inside the black rubber hoses.

Not trying to be rude here, but you say you've asked this question before...So, go back and read through your posts until you find the thread...where you asked the same question before ;)

Or, you could try out that newfangled search function you don't seem too familiar with...(well, that part was rude ;D ;D )

Sudco was the brand name that was highly recommended in the last thread I read on this subject.  It has a thin red line down the side
see here:  http://www.sudco.com/fuel.html#redstripe

As mentioned above the Honda product not only doesn't kink, it is also easier to route as it is a smaller overall diameter than the 1/4" stuff.

Get the right stuff, you will be glad you did

Might be just me but I couldn't find the Tygon in a 5.5mm dia.

The Sudco in the link I posted is available in 5.5mm and to my fellow Canadians that stumble across this thread, the Sudco is available from British Cycle Supply in Wolfville N.S.

Cheers

"i have wayyyy better things to do with my time then that sir!"

I think the point is that the Google Custom Search works very well. Just give it a phrase to look for. Even though it will find thousands, your answer will almost surely lie in the first few. That is the case with a search on "fuel line". everything in this current thread was disclosed/discussed in the first few of the search.

Don't get me wrong, I'm perfectly fine with revisiting a subject. At times something new or previously missed comes to light.

My point is simply the Google Custom Search works very well, if needed.

Motion pro line on Z1 site comes in ID of 3/16" 1/4" and 5/16".
Those sizes translate into 4.76mm (too small), 6.35mm (too big) and 7.94mm (wayyy too big).
None are the 5.5mm size that your bike needs.
You could probably squeeze the 3/16 line on there, but it's gonna split eventually, exactly when you don't want it to.
Answer is NO those won't work.

I'm running 3/16.  It's super tight and if you put it all the way up the nipples then it's nearly impossible to remove without cutting.  In fact, most of the time the petcock nipple pops out before the fuel line.  Yup, I put those two words in the same sentence.  So funny.

Looks like you can get a meter of black 5.5" fuel line on ebay for about $15 shipped.   I'd love to know if you can get it in a clear (or translucent).  I've enjoyed looking at he fuel in my lines!

I've really looked and never found 5.5 in clear. I too like looking at the fuel. I found a 1/4 in clear with gold braid in it. Don't know where though, just have it in my scrap box from 100 years ago. It fits tight.

Which goes to the point. Some people will find loose 3/16 and others tight 1/4 that suits them well. Just manufacturing tolerances.

But overall, those sizes they are too tight or too loose.

I bought some 1/4 braided too, but it needs clamps to stay sealed.  I have the petcock style that has two fuel outlets and using clamps made it really difficult to deal with.  It was also a really tight fit through the holes in the carb mount plate.

At some point when things are running well and I trust the bike a little better then I'll probably just buy some black 5.5.  For now it's clear 3/16.

I cheated and have the single spigot petcock and Mikunis, so the routing is different.

I placed an order for 15ft. As soon as i get it i'll put a post in FOR SALE classifieds and bump it every few days.

I need some for a few projects. Otherwise, I'll divide the 15ft by the hard cost of getting it and selling it, rounded up to the nearest 25cents. I'm going to highball it at $3.00 per foot. No takers, I'll eat it.

Probably about twice what Honda gets for 5.5 bulk in black. So you really want the clear (I do).

the sudco fuel lines are ugly....

what size tygon hose do you use????

------------------------------------------------------

so from what i understand some 1/4 are to loose and some 3/16 are to tight but it depends on the brand. like i was saying my crappy blue fuel line the 1/4 is very tight.

so pretty much its just kinda brand orientated soooooooooo in that case they tygon. which one do you use 1/4 or 3/16?

It is strange how people will spend a dollar to save a penny.  I bought 5.5mm honda line from my local honda dealership. The guy brought out a huge rol,l I asked for three feet, he cut it off.  I paid $8 and was riding my 750 30 minutes later with brand new nonleaking hoses.

Not sure if this is directed at me, but if you can find a vendor that sells small quantities of 5.5 clear fuel line for that price then I'd jump on it.  Unfortunately it seems that most vendors want to charge high shipping rates for small quantities, or they'll give you a great price on huge quantities.

The vendor MCRider used would effectively be charging over twice what you paid for the same amount.

Its the only clear 5.5 I've ever seen and I've looked. I'm willing to pay a premium (S&H) to get it. It's just a toy. i have a budget for toys.

Yes if you want clear line, there are options.  I don't use the clear any more since I ran out, if I need to see what is going on in the lines, I swap out my fuel filters for some clear ones I have for checking.
