Matt, That is nuts! Nice work. How does that all attach to the frame? cant get to the rubber tank mount  that I can see. Do you have rubber mounts under the seat? Does the whole unit flip up from the rear and bolt into the frame somewhere?
  Hope you get it done today, you're almost at due date, and  I' m sure you'll want to paint it while you still have time.

What's the baby weight? 7-11? That's my second son weight at birth 7lbs 11oz

Hello rb550 the tank is mounted on the front with the normal rubber I had to cut some of the tank to get it to fit. It will be rubber mounted under the seat and the whole thing will flip up. It is pretty easy to remove the whole unit but when gas is in it will be another story. The tank is a bit over five gallons well that's how many bottles of vinegar I had to use to fill it up and get it clean. I am pretty sure I will have to drain most of the gas if I have to take it off lol I didn't think about that.

Now I am trying to figure out a tail light originally I was going to use the stock rear fender with a smaller 500 tail light but yesterday when I put it on it looked well stupid I guess so gotta think about what I want to do about that.

I will get some pictures later of it for you. I just made a metal frame so that it could be welded to the tank and used foam/wood and fiberglass to make the shape. I usually use wood for the seat pan I am not very good with metal working though I keep practicing lol.

Little one is due January 10th. The doctor will let her go 1 week past that. The wife is huge right now I think we are going to skip the baby part and go right to the toddler part . I converted my computer room to the baby's room.

Thanks Tews I will take you up on them. Anything you need I have a ton of 550 parts no 750 parts though sorry. I am also looking for a headlight piece I have the bucket guess I need the chrome ring that goes around the headlight.

Wow what a amazing emotional roller coaster of ride it has been the last few days. Our baby was born 1/9/13 happy and healthy.

I had a bit of time today to work on the bike some for right now I am going to use this rear fender tail light set up. I don't like how it looks but going to leave it for now and start on the exhaust. I think with the tail light I will probally do some type of LED set up but will take the next few months to think about it. I had a front fender from my last project that I didn't use so put that on to see how it looks. I was originally going to use the stock fender but the smaller one doesn't look bad its not done needs to be rounded and such.

Today I will work on the controls and hit the salvage yard up for black handle bars. I don't want to go with clip on or drag bars getting uncomfortable at my age lol.

Congrats on the new little one! A great thread to read... I like the one piece tank/seat... I'm normally not a fan, but this is cool.  Looking forward to the exhaust set up... I'm picturing a slim 4-4... With 2 pipes on either side.

Yeah they will be slim with two pipes on each side. I having a hard time finding the mufflers that I like. I just might make my own but going to get the headers and the rest of the exhaust first then go from there.

Its your fault that I made the one piece tank and tail Goldarrow I came in one day after having a beer or two and was looking at the red one you picked up lol....I will be running velocity stacks on it. The electrical panel I am still undecided on but when my other bike was up for bike of the month I think it was Z-mo did a really nice chopper just a beautiful build and he used a box on top of the engine. I saved that picture cause I thought it was a pretty cool way to do the electrical hope he doesn't mind if I copy it.



Right now I want to get the exhaust done then go from there on where to mount the other stuff.. How are your projects going?

Had some time this week to get the engine painted. Still got some polishing to do and waiting for the polished engine bolt kit to come in. Hopefully will get started on the carbs this weekend just waiting for the rebuild kits to come in. I need to order a new stator cover and points cover the ones I have a pretty rough lol.

I just about quit this project lastweek my friend that was suppose to help me build the scrambler pipes for it is too busy building race cars doesn't have the time right now . It really bummed me out I am just going to throw some type of an exhaust on it for now and hope he can find the time later. So I am going to keep pushing ahead on this for now and start putting it back together. For now I am going to leave the exhaust hangers and and other tabs  in case I use them later on when I can get the exhaust that I want made for it.

I have a question if anyone can help me out. I am going to be running a pretty open exhaust and velocity stacks  anyone have any recommendation and what size jets I might need. I know there isn't a simple answer just roughly what I might need going to order a few sizes and go from there. I don't mind doing plug chops etc to try and get it right and worse comes to worse I can always put the stock airbox back on.

Iron-worker just want to say I have enjoyed watching your build its coming along great.. Yes the color is duplicolor cast iron it looks good but I might paint one of the jugs black to break it up some but will think about it some more.
