Bought a '74 750 about a month ago with the intention of building a cafe racer. Just finished getting it disassembled down to the frame. I did a complete rehab of another '74 750 about ten years ago so everything is familiar.

I remembered how tough it was to pull the engine so this time around I bought a Harbor Freight engine hoist and fabricated a neat jig to slide under the frame and over the engine to make it a one person job. Worked like a charm.

I've already taken some cues from Hondaman and will incorporate a lot of his ideas. It's amazing how much support there is for these bikes.

I'm in South Charleston.

I bought another '74 750 that was located in Ohio just up the river from Huntington about ten years ago. The engine had been removed and the rest was in boxes. I paid $150 and really didn't know what I had. Fortunately it turned out to be in good condition and made a nice bike.
I let it go after a few years and regretted it.

I'm going to spend some money on this current 750 and hang onto it. There's something about the SOHC's that strike a chord with me. Maybe it's their simplicity.

Where are you located in SE Ohio. I have a Kawasaki Concours I could use to ride up and get acquainted. I'd like to see your Honda if possible.
