Yes as far as I know.  What year/model of the 550 and 750?

I believe the answer is Yes...  I've had the guages on the 550 totally apart and replaced indicator plates. I won't actually get inside the 750 guages for a week or two, but they appear to be physically the same size.

The gear ratio may be a bit different though, I don't really know one way or the other, but best to check it out.

The 550 speedo's are usually ranged 0-120mph(-actually 130 but the highest figure is 120). The 750 is 0-140mph.
The speedo's are however interchangeable and both will work correctly on the other bike, as the ratio for both is 1400rpm on the speedo cable equals 60mph.
The tacho's are different. Apart from the red zone being different, the ratio is different- 4:1 on the 750 and 20:3 on the 500/550.
They can be recalibrated, but that is a job for an instrument expert as it involves changing the magnetism internally

The gauges are the same size.  But, different models have the trip reset knob in different places.  Also, the tach has a different multiplier between 550 and 750.  It will "work", but will be highly inacurate.  I think the two have the same reading only when indicating zero.

Does anyone know if it is possible to buy new face plates for a 1978 CB750K speedo and rev counter.  Mine 750 was left out in the sun for about seven years before I rebuilt it, but the face plates/figures have faded.
I have run the 750 for 12000 miles and they work okay, but do not look very good.

Dave, have a look on Ebay, there are several sellers that do replacement faces, including or own El Cheapo. The quality varies of course, but they are out there, you just need to look. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"
