14.5 mm is correct for the X46A carbs found on the 77 CB550K.
That must be a completely different casting from my 500/550 carbs...I don't think I could bend the tab enough to let the float in my 627A's sit that low...(or is it sit that high??)...
Edit: Just checked the Fiche; the 77 is a completely different carb from those in my junk carb collection. Latest carb I had was an 087A, which still had the basic 627A casting...from a 76 550...
Well, I'm glad I looked...Now I know what to stay away from...
My local salvage yard had two or three aisles of shelves with racks of carbs only on them...all old, dusty, dirty, crappy looking...the whole place was like that...collapsed roofs and floors; literally a thousand old Jap bikes laying in heaps; stripped; rusty; crusted dirt...I was looking for handlebars, but I spent an hour and a half looking around with the owner...in late 1800's buildings, also falling apart...no electricity, just the sunlight through the holes in the roof, and a small flashlite the owner had...four big old stone buildings, lofts, cellers, bikes in every square inch of space...and not a decent looking machine among them...abandoned for 20-30 years...some still had plates on them...
A motorcycle graveyard...so sad...
