He's dropped it to $260. Can't tell if its his basic 4-1 or the performance one. Last time I remember, he was selling the performance ones for $1k

I like the way it hugs the frame, but the money is needed elsewhere.

Does the filter come off without taking off the entire set of pipes?
Can you drain the oil from the sump?

Does he make any of his own parts,or does he just remarket other's? Personally,I think he is an average bolt together type mechanic. I have seen more originality and ingenuity on this forum's builds than anything on his website.

I apologize for being harsh,but I am sick and tired of hearing his name. I'm sure he's a great guy,buy he's just another "Jesse James". Sick and tired.

terrys manpads or what ever they are,,each one is tested by terry twice to make sure you only receive a quality tested product once,he dosent like recalled used manpons.

what are you talking about... "nobody makes their own parts anymore" back in the 60's and 70's there was just as much bolt on "custom" stuff, as well as shop fabricated one off bits as there is still today. I have friends that just started a shop where they fabricate as much as they can, friends that do custom paint, etc... I hate and resent this idea of nobody (as in the younger crowd) does it right anymore... the old generation that actually knew how to use their hands... I am 28 and I build stuff and my friends build stuff and everyone thinks its cool to be building stuff, its not a lost art!!

and for us 500-550 they dropped the price on our pipes as well

Actually there was so much more aftermarket stuff available for our bikes "back in the day". Motorcycle magazines were full of adverts for custom pipes, wheels, carb setups, ignitions, rearsets, forward controls, frames, forks, tanks, seats, God, the list goes on, anything that Honda built for a SOHC4, someone would come along and try to do better, or at least differently. The aftermarket available for modern bikes is tiny compared to what it was like back then, I was lucky enough to be there "back in the day" and I remember it well.

260 bucks is a bargain for a set of pipes for one of our bikes, I paid over $1200 for a set of Jardine pipes for my Triumph Rocket III 2 years ago, and that was a very good price. Granted, the Jardine pipes are from an established company that has been building exhausts from "back in the day" when they were building aftermarket pipes for SOHC4's, and their quality is very good, but Carpy (for all his other faults) is providing a service to assist us, and should be respected for that.
