79cb650 no spark
« on: September 01, 2012, 03:41:19 PM »
I'm new to the forum, can anyone tell me how to find out why I have no spark.  I know the battery cables got crossed.  It blew the main fuse and I have to bypass the solenoid to get juice to the starter.  It turns over, but no spark.  Ignition switch has continuity as do the coils.  I changed the mps pulse ignitors and still nothing.  Please help!  :-\

you have to have atleast one spark plug connected on each coil to get spark.

The main fuse has to be installed and serviceable to allow battery power to flow to the ignition switch,  and on to the coils for spark/ignition. Continuity is necessary to carry the voltage thru the circuit.....the main fuse (or a fuse bridge) is a necessary part of the switched 12v circuit continuity.

If the main fuse is serviceable/installed, you should get switched (key On) 12v thru to the black/white terminal at the coils (and the Spark Units for switching coils on/off via the pulse generators)...........can you confirm (key On) 12v at the coils?...........
