Oil Pressure Switch Plug
« on: September 03, 2012, 07:22:34 PM »
Hey Guys,
Not using the oil pressure "dummy" light any more and it was leaking. So I decided to cap the SOB off with a plug I found at the local hardware. The size is 1/8pt and not bpt, but matching the threads to the oil switch I didn't see any difference. Plus the little bugger threaded in just fine.

I might try this as I think my is making a mess too.  I have a pressure gauge so it's really redundant.

I'd like to just plug mine also, as no longer have a light on my handlebars. I'm just not exactly sure what part to get at this point. If found this post - http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=123909.msg1408134#msg1408134 - that says the threads are 1/8" BSPT...NOT 1/8" NPT.

I've always used 1/8 NPT fittings and they fit perfectly. Long ago I gave up arguing about what thread it "really" is, I have no time for the usual forum opinions on it. 1/8 NPT fits.
