CB400F Cam Chain Tensioner
« on: September 04, 2012, 06:22:16 PM »
Good evening,
I have a badly scored cam chain tensioner arm on a non running CB400F I picked up some time ago.  I was able to get the tensioner screw out by dosing it with PB Blaster for six months and a torch.   However the tensioner arm looks pretty bad and if I going to be down there I'd rather replace it.  I had heard that OEM was going to be available again, I don't remember who or what forum I read that from, but in the mean time what are my options while I'm collecting parts for the rebuild.  TT400 has a great looking one, however it was a bit more than I was looking to spend.

Thanks.

David Silver Spares recently announced that they were making a replacement tensioner arm.  The OEM tensioner slipper and blade are still available (also from DSS)

Cheers

Yep, that DSS one looks very similar to the TTR400 one I put in my rebuilt 400 engine.

Thanks for the help gentlemen,  I will be deployed for the next three months or so.  I'll keep an eye on the prices for the next 60 days then bite the bullet. ;)
