Scrubbing in some new race tires......
« on: July 01, 2006, 09:55:54 AM »
Okay....so headed down to the local GP Kart track to stretch the legs a little bit on the the CB175 and to scrubb in the new race tires...before racing at Vintage Motorcycle Days 2006 at Mid-Ohio. I must say.....I love these Dunlop KR825s!!!

Didnt matter where I put the bike....it stuck like glue, even over the slippery patches in the corners. Played around with the tire pressures a bit and after a few laps......started pushing the bike....rode perfect. Did notice on a few corners, if you carried alot of speed into a tight corner and threw the bike over far and fast......it did want to tuck in too far on you.  I'm assuming....its because the diameter of these tires being smaller(low profile) and the rake angle change.....this was the cause. Just had to really watch the corner entry speed on a few corners.

Also....this was the first time out with the new Works Performance shocks....very nice!! No more po-going in the corners at speed. You just dont realize how bad stock shocks are till you get something that works......WORKS PERFORMANCE!!

Overall.....spent a few good hours playing at the track. Took a couple pics of the bike in the pits. You will notice.....pretty much had the place to myself. Hope to see some of you guys at VMD at Mid-Ohio.

Enjoy....

Have had Works shocks on my 750 for over 10 years now and bought a set for my 550 project too. You're right there is no excuse for poor shocks.
