CB400F Factory engine paint finish ?

1977 CB400F . Should it have a silver painted finish on all of the engine ?
My bike has chrome crank & points covers & silver painted engine block which is old & tired looking & needs refreshing, head is polished alloy with lifting varnish !!!!
Want it back to shiney new whatever it was in 1977....
Any advice welcome !!!!

Cheers alancop, looks very similar to what I've got, must get that silver alloy paint out then......!
