I had an issue with kids shooting at me with a BB gun when i was on the roof. Cops were called, but did not care. The dad got pi$$ed that I called the cops so the next day he lets the gate open with the dogs snarling at me.
I carried the 12 gauge up on the roof with me,then back down every time I took a break, ready to make Fido-Burgers.
When the Parent of the Year  spotted the gun,he made himself ,the dogs, the kids scarce. No problems since.
  Get off my lawn!!!!

we need a full firearm permit for an air rifle over here, even to purchase ammo,if you climbed onto your roof here with a shot gun they would lock you up,careless use of a firearm or something else,if you reported you had been shot at here even with a slingshot youd have cops in flack jackets arrive!at the shop where i brew beer some guys a distance away mustve had a tube that fitted a screw into it which was blown out with compressed air,,they hit and cracked a tv set near the door way and they also ruined a neighbouring solar roof panel,,the cops went right through the area and even seached a house!

No, but then again I really don't care for veggie burgers. ;D

I like veggie burgers.  You really sure this 12yr old kid is shooting a full auto weapon?  If this is the case don't waste your time with the local police.  This would be a federal issue.  A 12yr old can't get a federal firearms license.

I repeat, there are NO firearms laws in Vermont, and unless someone is hit by a bullet....

I hate veggie burgers. A veggie burger isn't a burger anyway, it's just a veggie pattie in a bun, it doesn't even deserve to be called a 'burger'. Disgusting.  :P
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Dude, you do not know what you are talking about.  Fully automatic weapons are regulated by the federal government, not the state of Vermont.

I know about VT my wife is from VT and I have been there several times.  She use to live in Bennington.

I've noted you hate a lot of stuff.  I hope you work through your issues.

I don't know why I bother but at the risk of repeating myself.  It is a FEDERAL law.

I was actually trying to agree about the laxity of VT gun laws.

I don't think its you...maybe some other people ???, but not you.

BTW here in Canada, fully automatic weapons are "restricted" and not allowed at all, except with very special permits.  They are typically used by criminals :o...who seem to be able to get a hold of them regardless.

as our rifles got banned and hard to obtain a permit there was a sticker on cars"when guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns"and its ringing too true over here now,so many shootings amoungst criminals.

Well I think we should correct that Dave. Rifles haven't been banned in Oz, I own several rifles and shotties. The "when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns" statement, while mostly just emotional NRA claptrap, does have a ring of truth. (any law abiding citizen who keeps their guns when they're banned will be outlaws, technically)

Over here, our outlaws (1% bikers, violent criminals, ethnic thugs involved in family feuds etc) quite often take potshots at each other, mostly drive-by's where the house and cars get sprayed with bullets, but there are very few injuries. (Oz only has a murder rate of around 200 annually, and most of them are the result of domestic disputes. By comparison, cigarettes kill around 20,000)

As is the trend in Britain, Europe and the US, most of the mass killings involving guns are not carried out by "criminals" per se, but nice normal registered gun owners, many of whom have never had any previous problems with the law. I'm more worried about law abiding citizens than I am criminals, criminals are a lot more selective about who they shoot at. ;D

And fair enough too Dave, if you're too lazy to re-cock your rifle, you don't deserve to own one............ ;D

You give up your rights in the U.S. if you want to legally own a full auto weapon.  You give the ATF permission to search and seize you at any time they see fit.  This also applies to silenced weapons.

LoVel,
I used to live in the SouthEast usa,
Alabama included, but do not profess to be an expert on gun laws there
or in Vermont where I currently live.

My brother lives in Montréal, but again

I am not an expert on Quebec gun laws.

A persons' mere presence in a state does not make them an expert on anything.

Seems to me someone didn't take their 'nice' pill today.
peace,
michel

LoVel,

It's probably due to those friggin' veggie burgers Michel, he needs more red meat on his plate........... ;D

I don't think you guys are being fair to what LoVel has said.  All he really said was that if fully automatic weapons are discharged in what what might be deemed to be an unsafe manner, then it is potentially violating federal regulations - not just a state regulation (if any exist).  That means that the guys in Washington, DC have made the rules regarding fully automatic weapons, and if one were to violate those rules then the FBI would have jurisdiction to to be called in.  I'm an expert ya know 'cause I always watch the TV series "Criminal Minds". ;)

...and Terry, just remember that for your boomerang to come back, you've first got to throw it. :P

Yeah, you're probably right, but it's not so much what was said, but the way it was said. I do have a boomerang, but it's definitely a "last resort" weapon.............. ;D

It was explained to me by a very nice gentleman from Australia ( I know it's contradiction in terms, just trying to be nice ) that Foster's is what's left after Australians drink real beer and urinate back into the bottle.  It is then relabelled and exported.
