New hangers ready to polish
kind of puts my kurt vice to shame
but much more practical in doing stuff like that

Cool frame!  Best wishes on the build, and wishes for no surprises.
Thanks for posting the build pictures.

nice on ya colin, but the chances you'll get it ready look thin to me..... never mind all the little things that will surely need sorting...

arrived to my first race ever with a COMPLETE bike i finished assembling on friday morning, sprinted for 100 yds on the sidewalk and off
finished the race (with crazy stuff to sort in the sessions like a stripped plug thread) , but looking backwards it was pure begginer's luck rather than a good plan!

Hi Colin - is that a Davies caliper hanger or your own? Just asking as I need to make some for my 750. Are you using 750 fork legs?

So, it is getting raced naked and unpainted where you add brackets, etc.
So, you have new races and head bearing kit to install your old forks and triple tree complete...

Is the
Rear axle the same mounting arrangement and width?

The bracket for the front brake caliper is home made but I must admit it is plagerised from John Sunters design ,the points cover is also home made using a c70 cover !! looks nice the ?? Plan is to get the fairing on using the old bracket and tart up later .  Time for bed

No I am at East Fortune its the last Melville club meeting of the year  would have been better off at Snetterton tho as there are only  three classics entered  .  Its a shame the classic scene in Scotland seems to be dead with the post classics getting more and more entries . Time for a switch maybe ? ?

pity im probably going to snet on sunday [ depending upon work  ]  would have been nice to see you and the bike.
its difficult to predict which way the classic scene will go , maybe the likes of johns frames will spark a bit of life back into the class . i wouldn't jump  just yet , besides you have quite a few quid invested in the bike you've got at the moment ! .

and you are even getting SOME sleep? :) great progress

classic racing in italy is changing the same way, just five years ago there were up to 12 CB500/4's, out of some 25 starters total in the old "up to 72' 500" class ( before the split of 2/4 stroke). It dwindled to 2-3 CB's this year even if class has now a 79' cut off.  1-2 500 pantah's have joined in, but not much else, seems like people and bikes just disappeared ::)
Admit to having made the jump to post classic myself, simply because I wanted to be surrounded by a few more bikes...    my bet is that 83-84 cut off (pre GSXR/FZ) is going to be the new standard for quite a long time. not good news for sohcs...
