I have a rattle like the chain is hitting a gaurd but it is not. Comes from the front chain sprocket area. Only seem to hear it when taking off in first gear when you release the clutch. does not come from clutch side of bike. anyone?

All my SOHC 750 bikes have been pretty noisy, rattle sound . Sounds like maybe a case of clutch rattle, it also did not sound like it was coming from the clutch area but it was, mine was greatly reduced when I synced the carbs .Does the sound reduce in neutral when you pull in the clutch ? Read about it here :

And welcome to the site !

Found this bike in completely stock condition in Feb. 08. Paid over twice what my new one cost 30 years ago. Am trying to re-create the look of the late 70's Drag Bike styling.More later. 4-2-10 It ain't stock any more and I have no idea what I am trying to create !

I stretched the bike 4 inches and keep the 630 chain, I just checked and think the sprocket is loose. Anyone have the torque specs on it?
