help identify seat
« on: September 10, 2012, 04:09:31 AM »

here are some pics of the seat i'm talking about...

got it from the PO with another, but original 550F seat.

It shows the Honda writing, but is it original, or a custom built?

The back of the seat is foam, no metal like the gulliari ones.

thanx

I would say the seat pan belongs to a CB250/CB350. It's been a while since I redid mine, but it looks almost the same..

With the plastic flap, it looks like a cb350 twin.

It looks like the PO says it's for a 550. The only other name I know is Corbin.

ok, thanks!

I was just wondering if it was a custom built of a 550 seat pan.

I don't recall ever seeing a stock 550 seat with a bum stop although it does say Honda across the back.  May be an aftermarket cover and foam.   Since your profile shows a you have a 550F just do a trial fitting and see if it fits?   The pan shot is a bit blurry but it does look like a Honda pan.

seems to be a seat from a 350 four. Found some pics of 350 fours with exactly the same seat
and that bumstop of foam...
so the quest is solved  :D

Does it fit your 550?

I'm 99% sure it is not a 350f seat. It looks like a custom cb350 twin seat. The twins had the plastic flap on the bottom of the seat for the owners manual and registration. They did not come from Honda with a bump stop. someone could ably had Honda stenciled on the back
