Throttle Cables
« on: September 15, 2012, 01:31:12 AM »
Hi,

I  bought a pair of used throttle cables on EBay for a 1977 CB750a, they seem to be a bit too short. The manual shows them routed quite low at the front of the frame but the ones I purchased just run under the front tank mounts. Can anyone tell me the correct length for the 1977 throttle cables and where they might be available.

Thank you.

The parts fiche shows that all three years (76, 77, 78) used different part numbers for the cables.  Do you have a 77 bike?

1978 CB750A (upgrading very, very slowly)

Past bikes - Honda: SL350, CX650C, CB900C, CB1000C, CM450A; Kawasaki: several 1972 750 H2's; Suzuki: TC90J.

Bikes I want: CX650ED, a mid-sized japanese V-twin with ABS.

Hi kandrtech,

Yes my bike is a 1977 model, the cables I bought were advertised as being for this model but I suspect they are from a 1976 bike which I believe had lower bars.

Regards
