Hello from Utah with a upper triple tree question
« on: October 28, 2012, 10:24:38 AM »
Hi guys,

I have been a troll on this forum for a number of years. Thanks to all for your contributions.

I have a 72 CB350F that Im finally getting around to restoring. Great little bike with 7200 org miles. The only issue is the upper triple tree is cracked on both sides next to the tightening nuts. My question is how "unsafe" is this problem?
I cant seem to find a replacement (been looking on and off for two years now) and the only alternative is to repair with welds. Has anyone else welded their upper triple tree clamps?

Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the most active board of your life ;D ;D ;D

I would keep looking for a replacement.............and use spacer-washers in the clamps.  Look for a cross-reference part number to see if the tree was used on other models.

Actually you can have one made from billet - that is an option too.

Great to see another member from Utah we have been a bit underrepresented.  ;D

Have you tried Bills Bone Yard in Salt Lake or Grim Cycle salvage in Orem? I thought I saw a 350 at Grim last time I was there but admittedly it was a while back.
