Ha ha, my father, who lost a lot of his friends to the atrocities of the Japanese in WW2 always says, "The best thing that ever came out of Japan was a mushroom cloud". Nowadays that's not very PC of course, but I don't think I'll ever see any American president ever apologise for the US dropping the bombs on Japan, and shortening the war in the Pacific.

I like your quote from "Automobile Magazine", (probably the most honest review) that apparently agreed with what I've been saying all along, "a modest yet refined four-cylinder engine". I know they went on to say it was a "Stellar Sports Car", but we all know that car magazines are reliant on advertising to survive, so it's very rare that they'd trash a particular brand and risk losing their advertising dollars. Maybe they meant that it should have been named "Stella"? ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

My dog's name is Stella and she is an Australian Sheperd.

I like the fact that you ride a 32cc scooter but think a Miata is underpowered.

My old man helped develop that mushroom cloud. The Miata is a nicely styled car, that and the Mini Cooper are very popular in NY with the LBGT community.

Last time I went to a SCCA club race half the cars were Miatas.  Or as one owner I knew [she] called it the pinata. I couldn't fit in it very well even even with the top down.

Miatas or MX5 as they are known here are great cars. Old school like the Lotus Elan. Needs to be the early flip up headlights though.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Ha ha, well the power to weight ratio of my scooter far exceeds that of a Miata mate, so it's way more exciting to ride too. I'd never heard of an Australian Shepherd before, so I googled it and discovered that they don't actually have any Australian provenance, they're an American invention, like apple pie and Outback Steakhouses. I'm sure Stella's a great dog, nonetheless. Cheers, Terry. ;D

3 & 4 manifesting themselves now.

Diagnosing these things are never easy, humans are complex and some have developed impressive adaptations to mask their fears.  It helps to understand your online pals fears (and your real pals) so one can communicate with them and not misinterpret the response when communicating your personal ideas and concerns.

Ha ha, I always laugh when I see replies from American folks who apparently don't know their own history. You do know that America was a British Penal Colony long before Oz was discovered, yeah?

Dropping the soap in the showers was probably an American invention too, considering that there are more convicts and ex-cons in the US than we have people? I think the current stats for the US are up to 30% of the total male population are currently incarcerated, or ex felons?

Nothing wrong with that I guess, we all make mistakes, but it does explain America's love affair with guns........... ;D

Well the Dingo numbers are bogus, but the undeniable fact that the Christians that make up the 99% of our leadership, who expect forgiveness on demand from their omnipotent and omnipresent leader, have none for the citizens of this country. It was strange reality for a child of the 60's to realize those who met at Woodstock were not really trying to improve the world, they just were afraid to be drafted.

Interesting:

27% of federal prisoners are not US citizens.  Strange how this place that the Dingos see as #$%* hole filled with ignorant lazy spellers is so attractive to so many people.

50% of all prisoners are in jail for non violent crimes. Drugs the majority.  I say f**k the war on drugs, started by an #$%* and enforced by self-serving sheep.

Federal prison sentencing guidelines are the primary reason for prison population increase,  increasing the length of time in prison 100% unavoidably results in a larger population in prison.   The underlying crime rates have gone down a little, but no where near the proportion increase.  Crime rates were lowest when jobs rates were highest, funny how that works.

I do not have any ex-con friends right now, but every ex-con I ever called a friend, wanted a Trike.   :o ;D

This is the problem with symbology and  analogy; always the opportunity to get literal in response. Works for me! :)

I was 16, we had a camper set up at Baily's lake Campground by the Concord Hotel near Monticello NY. (Kiamesha Lake) That weekend in 1969 we could not get to camp and I wanted to be there to ride my Super 90.

We stayed home and #$%*ed about hippies all weekend. There were traffic jams on NYS 17, 52, 17M 17K seemed like every road in northern Orange County and southern Sullivan County NY was jammed with cars. I cannot remember seeing many girls in the groups out of their cars on Route 17, and as a 16 year old still trying to get laid, I sure would have noticed them because we "knew" hippie girls were into free love.

The reactive conservatism to this event, and others like it, is the root of American Right which has used the soft on crime mantra with great success.  I think the people behind this are just our version of the Taliban.

Maybe they will dictate one must be off two and onto three when you turn 75.
