Me too! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Now are you not glad that I can tell that you imagine I wear underwear that has been possessed by women and that you simply do not know that women is the plural case of woman?

10 points captain obvious, it all in the context which makes your interpretation incorrect... Go to a shop and try and buy a womans underwear, you buy "womens" underwear.... proceed....

::) Learn to appreciate my sense of humor... :)

BTW
Although we all understand the context of womens underwear, the correct way is to use the possessive, 's.  In the past I didn't care, I felt the blogging medium was informal and as long as I understood, who should care?  However recently I have been made much more aware of these phopas and I making an effort on all our behalf.

I felt magnanimous pointing this out to you with out any discussion as to it being indicative of  your personal reluctance to be productive.  I made it a positive statement about my correct interpretation of what you meant.

Get it?    ;D :o :) :)

Well not really.  I just focus the humor here thru the lens of my experience.

I don't see a contradiction, I see your "spelling"  humor wielded with a twist.

I hate to re-post what should be obvious..

You  have problems with your definitions, Womens was the correct term when used as a collective or generalization, you don't buy "A woman's" underwear at the store, you go to the store to  buy "womens" underwear, the store sells womens underwear, unless you Americans have changed that as well.... ::)

English spelling lessons from an American, so you do have a sense of humour {correct spelling} I love irony....

Collectives & Generalizations.  Well I took the time to Google this one.   There are collective nouns, Womens is not one of them.  Generalizations; nothing shows up, is this term the Queens method  to categorize slang?

Because if you are now saying that forum members can use slang, which has no “correct” spelling and therefore people who miss-spell  cannot be assumed to be under-achievers due to lack of personal motivation, they're just using slang!  We’re all good man.  Cool!

Man you must be on some good sh1t mate, women IS a collective noun and the "S" just makes it plural. Womens clothing is  correct .... {clothing made for women}
I have always said, intelligence doesn't make one smart, you seem well on your way to proving that....

People use slang all the time, writers use slang, advertisers like to use slang as it makes them seem like one of the common people.

Like I said, looks like we are saying that's OK.    I will be sure to post to every thread I see a member has a spelling error; not to worry because the arbitrators of all that is good and understood has approved slang, Hallelujah, holly #$%*, pass the Tylenol.

Slang, spell it any way you want!   8) :) ;D

Can someone please tell me why a Miata is a girls car?

Seems like the person that has to have the motorcycle with the largest production engine made is the one that is compensating for a lack of something.  I think Miatas are cool and hope to own one someday.  My CB is a 500cc and my Triumph is a 865cc.

Do these things make me less of a man?  My wife doesn't think so and that's really all that matters to me.

Its funny how these things happen. Same thing happened to the Prelude. It became a "chick's car", sales fell off and discontinued.

And of course its a matter of degree, and often regional.

I like this thread better now that we're back to talking about trikes instead of arguing about spelling.  :D I'll probably hurt someones feelings but that last trike is one ugly ride.  In my opinion.  In otherwords I don't like it but someone else probably will.   I apologize ;)

Was it the Keg tank, the fifties on the back or the motor behind the rider that did it?

Someone had to love that thing to build it.

A Miata is a pretend "sports car". It looks like a car that might be able to deliver the goods, but in fact it's woefully underpowered and overweight compared to real performance vehicles. If you want to look like you're driving a sports car without paying for a real sports car, a Miata is just the ticket. There are any number of Japanese and European 4, 5 and 6 cylinder cars out there that will blow a Miata into the weeds, but Miata's still sell well, mostly to women, the Miata's target demographic.

The "Seems like the person that has to have the motorcycle with the largest production engine made is the one that is compensating for a lack of something." comment is a typical of a girl, or a girly-man. If it were true, we'd all be riding electric bicycles and be hung like Donkeys. If you ride a 500cc SOHC4, does that mean that someone with a 350F has a larger appendage than you? In turn, is everyone riding a C90 hung like an elephant? Being the owner of a "motorcycle with the largest production engine", I can happily say that while I originally bought it to pull my brother out of a financial hole, I enjoy riding it as much as I do my 32cc Honda powered scooter. Great fun.

It's nice to know that your wife doesn't think that you're less of a man because you like girls cars. While I'm surprised that you actually asked her, and that makes me wonder about your insecurity issues, it's good to know that she reassured you that you're still a man. Good job. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

Or one might seek what a professional car person writes to help you understand the fact that a Miata is a great car, so good that a smart girl might like one.

30 seconds on Google netted this:

""Think it through and you should realize what Miata owners knew all along: this car is invincible in terms of fun-for-the-buck, especially over time." - Automotive.com

"Few automobiles remain as perfect after a dozen years and only two generations, and few so closely to their original design and engineering briefs. - Automobile Magazine 2/02

"Why mess with success? The Miata's concept and brilliant execution as an attainable, approachable, and utterly fantastic sports car are as relevant in 2002 as they were in 1989." - Automobile Magazine 2/02

"Indeed, cars that give their drivers such joyful sensations are perhaps more important now than ever." - Automobile Magazine 2/02

The essence of the Miata has remained the same lo these many years: a lightweight, rigid, rear-wheel-drive chassis; quick steering and athletic reflexes; a finely calibrated manual transmission; and a modest yet refined four-cylinder engine. Throw in a couple of bucket seats and an exposed sky, and you have a stellar sports car, one that's immensely rewarding to drivers of any skill level." - Automobile Magazine 2/02

"No competitor had equaled the Miata's pureness of spirit, at least not at this price." - Automobile Magazine 2/02

"The Miata is still the best formula for a roadster that puts driving pleasure before all else, with reliability, practicality, and beauty in the bargain." - Automobile Magazine 2/02

"The Miata has been an Automobile Magazine All-Star for twelve years" 1990 - 2002. Note, not consecutive as there was no 1998 model. Also note that the Miata was the only vehicle to ever win the "All-Star" twelve times.

"Most Fun" - Convertibles $25,000 & Below - Motor Trend 8/01

"Emphasizing the driving experience." - Road & Track 11/00

"One of the Five Best Convertibles under $25,000" - Road & Track 7/01

Note: "One of" because the MR2 Spyder was the other.

"We all concur that Mazda has done a fantastic job of staying honest to the original concept, yet improving the car along the way." - Road & Track 7/01

"After all these years, the Miata has maintained its fun, agile and tossable personality, and has stayed honest to the original concept...it's still a blast to drive." - Road & Track 7/01

"Still, the 2001 Miata is a great bang-for-the-buck, a blast to drive, with one-make that two-of the best-shifting manual transmissions in the business." - AutoWeek 8/3/01

"...excellent handling and a low, thrilling ride that's ideal for enjoying low-speed twisty roads on sunny days. The Miata's handling feels well connected to the road in an almost go-kart-like fashion. - TheCarConnection.com 2001 Buyer's Guide

"We still can't get enough of this always fun-to-drive Japanese roadster" - Edmunds.com

I always like the fact it is made in Hiroshima, kind of let me think the Japanese knew we had no choice but to end that awful war without getting 1.000.000 more of our best killed.  And they had moved on to do a better idea, build a great product and more money will pour in then can be ever be won by battle.    Butthoonose?

Corollary three it is then eh?   ;) :D
