I am perplexed with this rear oil seal set up on this 76 CB 550 on the sprocket side.  I am FINALLY getting just about ready to have this bike put back together.  I am on the rear wheel. I completely disassembled it and powder coasted most of the parts in addition to replacing the bearings.  I started putting it back together tonight and I am stuck on where the seal goes. Does it go on the sprocket side plate or in the bearing retainer or where??
in the pics below the sprocket plate is mine and there is a seal in there.  Is that suppose to be there or inside the retainer like the other pic I pulled off the web The clymer book I have is unclear exactly where it sits. Or are there two seals, one inside the retainer and one in the plate
ALSO, I need the o ring gasket that goes against the sprocket and inside the plate.  The bigger thing one.  Mine is gone gone long gone and I cant seem to find a place to buy one
Please help..

I can't tell if it's the same by the pictures but you may try this video: Skip to the 9 minute mark.

This picture is from my 72 500.  Does this help?  Not sure where you can find the o-ring.  I found most of the answers to my questions on Soho Ron's build thread.

that looks a little different than the 550K.  But I appreciate the help.
Do you know if that bearing retainer gets a seal in there??  Butted up against the bearing?   I have seen some pics where there is one in there and then ive seen some pics where it isnt.
I got this bike in a million pieces and the FSM is no help.

I was a little confused reassembling mine.  There is only one seal and it looks like you have it in the correct position.  I also could not remember what side the large o-ring went on but, again, I figured it out from Ron's detailed photos.  PM me your email address and I will send you all my photos from the rear wheel.  Jim
