Looking forthe right year/model CB for my wants and needs
« on: May 13, 2005, 09:13:46 PM »
good evening, i am new to your site but not new to motorcycles. i am looking to make a cafe racer (who isnt these days) and i want to make the best desision possible when i buy my project bike. I know next to nothing about the CB. Honestly i would like to bolt on as many parts as i can. im not into fabrication, i dont want the hassles. now i know some stuff just needs to be made. i really like the look of the CB400f, but having 750ccs to call upon is always nice. could i get some opinions please.

I would do a 75 750 F...

Im not an expert, and this is the only "f" model i have had (others were k), but I think the lines would work out well for you. The narrower tank, the shapier seat, the style of the rear fender ect. Check out glenn's cafe thats for sale, might give you some ideas and i think an F model will allow you to make minimal changes and still come up with a good lookin ride.

Whatever year/model you decide on, read these forums and find out what to look for before you buy a bike. I made the mistake of buying the first one that I found. I spent too much on the bike for the condition that it was in. The brightside is that I know a lot more about the bike and how it works. :)
