lol ive been at it every night and most weekends i can decided i no longer want to use the alloy wheels so need to get rims and spokes can i run a wider rim so can run wider front and rear tyres

I personally love the spoked wheels on these bikes. I think they look great all chromed up.

The stock swingarm doesn't allow for a very wide tire, you might find that the wheels you have will allow for the extra width you want, or at least what the fork and swingarm will support.

I have a 130/80 on the rear and it JUST fits. The first thing it will touch is the chainguard then the swinging arm.

Great progress!!! You will certainly have some awesome roads to run it on when you are done! I would love to get back to Belfast some day.

I believe it was August of last year. I was there for work and in and out of Belfast for two weeks. I was able to spend two weekends free from any work duty in Belfast. Heard some great Blues music.

Have you tried contacting David Silver Spares UK directly about pipes? Maybe they can get something.

yes they only really do motad system or oem and very nice some of the coastal runs are really nice cant wait to take the bike round them in the summer

a few more updates work has been slow but rims and one disc are away to be powder coated and both discs are now drilled in my design

alot of wiring has been done loom shortened and repaired where needed looks messy but isnt really

controls prepped primed and painted

working out where to put my led lights for oil pressure turn signal neutral and full beam

Here worked out good for two of them

I wasn't sure if sand blasting the disc brake surface was a good idea or not so I had them tape mine. Any thoughts on that?

i cant see it doing any harm as a brake pad will bring it back to way it was pretty quickly and the place that done it said they have done the hole disc a few times before with never an issue

more updates rims build tyres fitted etc

disc painted just need lacquer

rear wheel ready to go on

bike rolling again

now with twin disc setup have to modify the disc and standard speedo drive alot to let them fit together

yes i plan to have it completed by then for sure as my friend wants a few of us to head down on our bikes

we could meet and let you see the bike is all its glory

the only thing stopping me from finishing this bike now is money as the exhaust might have to be custom made and the so does the seat plus a few other bits and bobs

Newest addition to bike family found this thanks to norniron400f he seen it phoned me and on the fridsy night and I bought it the next morning its a cb550 with a cb650 engine has electronic ignition and box loads of parts

few more updates finished some more of the wring and connected up the battery

ignition relocated to here doesnt look in the best order but works fine matched the tank lock

carbs where taken all cleaned inside and out then painted ready to go on

little bit of an update havent had much time at the bike but thanks to scott s of here we did a trade he needed shorter rear shocks i needed longer rear shocks to stop the rear end bottoming out, they came all the way from south carolina . Have also made and painted a speedo drive bracket to stop it from hitting the disc and half way through making a rear number plate bracket. Got the horn on as well but going to take it off again and paint the bracket.

made amazing private reg from the other cb550 i bought reg is XOI 5504

small update

rear brake setup finished just need paint the bracket etc

bracket made for the brake fluid bottle and throttle cables fitted

Your rear brake is assembled incorrectly....or is that done from neccessity?
The chrome arm on the brake hub should be pointing down.
