Speedo Trip Meter reset knob fix?
« on: September 17, 2012, 04:02:26 PM »
Weird question...

I have a CB500 and the trip reset knob decided to snap off as I was polishing the meters yesterday.

Is there any good way to get that part of fix it without buying new meters or completely effing the speedo up? The meters are in good condition and I'd like to keep them as much in tact and original as possible.

The knob is reverse-threaded. If you can get the rest of the plastic off the threads you can replace the knob.

+1, remove the gauge from the chrome cup and you will be able to better see what's going on up in there
If it works good, it looks good...

I read somewhere that you can replace it with the plastic piece that you turn to turn on a table lamp.

^Ooh, that's a good tip!
