it is a 1979 special it has the front/rear disk brakes mag wheels those yamaha's are the only bike with mag wheels that i like the condition is fair the same as my 750 it's complete minus seat needs carbs cleaned my plans are to hard tail it make it a custom bobber this winter and sell so i can get my flh harley that i want. the resale on the yamahas are getting better than some of the hondas in my area. i figured it would make a decent down payment on my shovelhead.but don't get me wrong i still have my cb550 that will be with me until the day i die,and my cb750 chopper.the wife is not to happy about it. i told her my plans this winter on a new bike for the collection.

The XS is certainly a better platform to bob & hard tail! :)

CR - what year is yours?

Could the XS be selling higher since there are less of them?

Mine is a '76.  Yamaha made the XS from '70 to '83-85 and they sold a zillion of 'em.
Clean pre-74 examples bring the most money. The 77-83 bikes are pretty common and popular for modding.
In terms of modding and aftermarket it's the Chevy small-block of motorcycles! :)
