Oil cooler auto-bypass suggestions?
« on: September 18, 2012, 10:30:14 am »
Seems like the only option for an automatic oil cooler bypass is the jagg 4050 at about $85.

Curious if anyone has gotten creative with something from the junkyard? Or just cheaper options?

I've seen people just use a metal cover for the cooler, but I think I want an automatic one.

Lastly, I'd love to see how you monitor your temp.

And remember, there's already a thread about oil cooler theory, and it not this one, let's keep it clean folks ;D

Pegasus racing has a couple different units but their cheapest one is 73 bucks.
Lockhart coolers came with them but I never liked the hose connections. I think if you run the cooler off the filter housing
you want good quality hose and fittings. Not as much of an issue if you plumb into a tank line. Check eBay. I've seen them come up there.
