I cannot get the carburretors apart from this rack without nearly breaking everything...

I have got the tops off two of the carbs, and removed both of the carb bodies from the left side, but somehow cannot see how to remove the "throttle bar" that operates the slides on these carbs, have undone the bolts and it moves from side to side?? any suggestions....and tell me it's easy please..

I'm usually good at dismantling things, but I am missing something here

the picture I have is the complete set I am trying to disassemble to give them a thorough clean and everything to have as a spare set.

Drill out the retaining rivet, Luke Skywalker, use the force! (and a sharp drill bit)

these carbs are dirtier on the ouside than an external thunderboxes insides after a full night on chinese and curry.

I used degreaser five times today on my hands (now lovely and smooth) to get the crap off.

I got a bonus when I bought these, an ice cream container (5 litre)  full of carb bodies, sliders, jets, floats etc...
have now assembled three full carbs with chromed bowls, and only need a few bits to complete number four.

Plus another head marked (HM)  X 3 any ideas on this one - no bloody valves with it but i'ts nice and clean - valve guides look pretty good - fins not damaged either..

Carbs should be attached to a common bar in the front, two bolts per carb. Remove them and each carb will slide out of the slide linkage. As they have that t-shaped gas connection, probaby you will have to remove in pairs.

Nah, Charlie was talking about the chrome connecting bar not the alloy mounting plate Raul.

I have removed the two bolts from one side, but could not slide the b*&^%y things out, things are very tight with the build up of filth around these carbs, the other side has one bolt and a phillips head screw that will not budge (it will tomorrow with a bit of drilling)..

I know Charlie, you're thinking "What #$%*ing rivet"? "What's Terry #$%*ing talking about now, is he completely mad?" Well here's a pic mate, you can undo every screw on your carbs, and you won't release the actuating rod, unless you drill this sucker out too. The shaft has a groove cut into it, and the rivet (or pin) stops it from moving sideways. cheers, Terry.

I just went through this exact same drill.  The pin is cutoff exactly
flush with the surface and hard to spot.  It is a soft pin and drills easily.
After you get it out, the hole can be tapped and a screw whose point
has been tapered to fit the groove in the rod can be substituted.

That's it Jim, I tapped mine for a 5mm modified screw and just loctited it in.
