Finally I get to ride my bike!!
« on: July 02, 2006, 01:31:08 PM »
Yes I've now managed to get down to Dorset when the weathers been fine and ride my CB350F. I've had two rides and both were really, reallly great.  :D

She complained a bit on first starting up but sang like a bird once warmed up. I'd forgotten just how good it feels to ride my old girl as I haven't ridden her since September. since then I've ridden my Yamaha Majesty scooter quite a bit for commuting in and out of London, and the bike feels *just a little* different. Less comfy I'll admit as my hands and bottom were aching after 100 miles but somehow more satisfying even though the front brake felt SCARILY ineffective. :o

The sun was beating down and the bike was going like a dream. I always have a little chuckle as I fly past cars on my little old bike - I think it takes them by surprise too... as fromin the mirror I'm sure it looks like a little 125 and then it flys by and its a 34 year old small four-cyilinder....weird!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Just thought I'd share that with you!!!

Change the fluid and grease the pivot!

I’d also consider changing the brake lines also I’ve replaced the whole system on my 400 and it’s not as old as your bike, the front brake was never good I think our bikes have the same parts, it was expensive but I what the heck, it will still be crap but at least it’s the best it can be.

Those little CB350f's are fun, not to mention good conversation pieces.  Hardly anyone is even aware such a small displacement inline four even exists, in my experience.  :)  Glad to hear you're out and about; a bike not ridden is worthless to me.

Thanks everyone.

Changed the fluid not long ago so i think it's just that it's a 33 yr old system and I've been riding around on a 1999 scooter with 1999 disc brakes... I'll just have to improve the muscles in my hands so I can pull on it harder!!!!

Gotta love that bike though - i'm always pleasantly surprised everytime I ride, it's certainly special!!

Looking forward to the next time I get back there. Hopefully I can take it to a rally. ;D
